Our scientific activities focus on the immune system, its regulation, function, and dysregulation in disease, particularly cancer. Thereby we aim to contribute to developing innovative precision diagnostics and immunotherapies.
Many of our activities are integrated into the programs of the Central Institute for Translational Cancer Research (TranslaTUM) at the Technical University of Munich. Furthermore, we are active as members of the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), the German Center for Infection Research(DZIF), and the newly established German Center for Child and Adolescent Health (DZKJ). We are supported by research funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Cancer Aid, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), and the European Research Council (ERC).
Our doctoral students pursue their degrees in structured doctoral programs under the umbrella of the Graduate Center of Medicine and Health.
